I teach at the student’s home or at my home.

I teach the flat-picking guitar technique, specializing in bluegrass and jazz.
I do not teach classical guitar technique or “finger-style” technique.
In some cases I teach music theory to players of other instruments.

I am accepting intermediate level students – Students who have a basic ability to play, know the names of at least a few notes and chords, and who want to learn to read music. I teach my students to read standard music notation, because it prepares them to learn virtually any piece of music they might be interested in learning. It also helps them learn to play by ear.

Learning to read music is like learning any language. It requires time, patience, and practice, but I believe that anyone can learn if they practice for just half an hour every day.

I encourage my students to enroll in a pre-paid course of six weekly lessons.
Tuition for the course is $120, due at the time of the first lesson.

I also offer single lessons for $25 per half hour as my schedule permits.
Payment for single lessons is due at the time of the lesson.
